Radio test transmit power

Hi,

I have programmed the radio_test_example to target having nrf51822 qfacaa chip. I have changed the UART pins as per the custom board.

It's working fine but showing some misbehaviour when we change the transmit power. By default it is at 0dBm, we get the transmit carrier at fixed channel 40 setting the start channel, it shows very low power on the scope, around -30dBm. On changing the tx power to +4dBm, it again goes more lower (-37dBm). That should increase.

Please help.

Thanks

  • Could you describe you hardware setup and screen shot the measurement result? You should of course see an increase in power when changing from 0 dBm to +4 dBm, but there can be many reasons to the difference you see. By the numbers you refer to it sounds like you are doing the measurement radiated and then it is really important and difficult to get the same setup for every measurement. Antenna placement between board and measurement equipment could cause this kind of observations.
