SDK v6.0 DFU of bootloader & S310 softdevice v2

We have an early implementation of the v6 SDK DFU ported to support S310 on a handful of devices in the field and need to update them to a new bootloader and we'd like to move to S310 SoftDevice v2 in the same update.

I've seen this post: devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../, but I just want to ask anew, is that accurate that there is absolutely no way for us to update the bootloader & softdevice OTA on our field deployed S310 SDv1 with SDK v6 bootloader boards?

The first version of the S310 supported only updates of the application. Since then we have added a master boot record in the softdevice to enable customers to update both the softdevice and the bootloader itself. Unfortunately you won't be able to update the softdevice on the units you already have in the market without using the SWD-interface.
