How to achieve 2Mbps with Bluetooth 4.2 on nRF 51 series.

I read the specifications on nRF51 series and the spec say that Bluetooth 4.2 with 2Mbps. However, standard Bluetooth 4.2 only support maximum 1Mbps bitrate. 

First, I wonder about that how to achieve 2Mbps with Bluetooth 4.2 and the chipset can support 2Mbps mode actually.

If so, could nRF52 support 2Mbps mode actually?

Hi,

 

nRF51 series has a 2 Mbps mode (called 2Mbps NRF mode) that is not compatible with the 2Mbps BLE mode introduced in Bluetooth 5. You may use it as you like for non-BLE purposes, e.g. Enhanced Shockburst.

 

nRF52 series supports both 2Mbps NRF mode and 2Mbps BLE mode, and thus has support for 2Mbps in the respective Softdevice versions.

So you mean the "NRF Mode" cant be used for communication with other devices such as smart phone. is that right?
