Heart Rate collector can connect to Bluetooth 5 Heart Rate notifier but not to Bluetooth 4.2

Hi,

We have a nRF52-PCA10040 with the Heart Rate Collector example in the version 15.3.0 of the SDK which has some trouble connecting to our Bluetooth 4.2 notifier.

Our Heart Rate service UUID is 0x180D and the Heart Rate Measurement UUID is 0x2A37 like needed.

We tried connect to an advertiser created with nRF Connect application, which only has 0x180D service. It works with a phone which support 5.0 Bluetooth but not with phone which support only 4.2 Bluetooth.

So, we supposed that our problem was the Bluetooth version but we don't understand why this is a problem.

Could you, please, enlighten me ?

The HRS example in SDK15.3 should even with BLE 4.2

I would strongly recommend you to sniff the air packets and get the log to understand why your collector example is not connecting to 4.2 notifier.

We sniffed the air packet, we received packets from our heart rate notifier which seemed good to us.

But, we resolved the problem by updating the firmware in the collector chip.

So, it works perfectly now, thanks.
