How to configure peripherals with SPM on nRF9160

Is there a set of directions for configuring the peripherals for the nRF9160 SPM.

I need to change the default configuration shown in the SPM sample.

I tried editing the file c:\ncs\nrf\subsys\spm\Kconfig but that dis not change the setting on UART2 that I am using to communicate

with a nrf52840 chip to build a BLE gateway.

Hi Jeff,
To set the UARTE2 to non-secure you can change that in the spm Kconfig by changing the default value, or the recommended way is to set this in the prj.conf to the 'spm':

CONFIG_SPM_NRF_UARTE2_NS=y

 

You can verify the change by looking at the output from the spm:

To change the pins for the uart2 you do this in the .overlay file similar to how it's done in the .overlay file in the lte_gateway_sample.

How to configure WDT in SPM ?

I am looking to configure peripherals without modifying "nrf" folder contents.

I have moved "http_application_update" folder outside the "nrf" folder.

Is it possible to do the same with "SPM" ? 

As i have seen "spm.c" file is inside "ncs\nrf\subsys\spm" path.

Hi Smitesh,

In [subsys/spm/spm.c] add the following at ~line 305 (under NRF_PWM3):

PERIPH("NRF_WDT", NRF_WDT_S, CONFIG_SPM_NRF_WDT_NS),

and in [subsys/spm/Kconfig] please add ~line179 (under SPM_NRF_PWM3_NS):

config SPM_NRF_WDT_NS
	bool "WDT is Non-Secure"
	default y

And you should get the output:
