Emulating example Firmwares on a Mac (OSX)?

Hi, I'm trying to use the iOS nRF Mesh Library on GitHub: https://github.com/NordicSemiconductor/IOS-nRF-Mesh-Library

I've managed to install the iOS app, but I am unsure how to run the example Firmware. It is recommended to run the Firmwares on an nrf52832 devkit, but I do not currently own one.

Is it possible at all to emulate this firmware functionality on a Mac, or do I need to purchase a devkit to test and develop on?

I'm very new to this so I apologise if I've missed a few steps. If I have, it would be great if someone could point me in the direction of where to start.

Hi,

Unfortunately, you can't emulate the firmware on a Mac. I suggest you start by purchasing a nRF52832-DK for developement and testing. You can find all the necessary software and firmware on our website.

Thank you very much for the response, I've just unwrapped my nrF52840 Development Kit! I assume this is compatible with the GitHub content which recommended the nrF52832 kit?

No. 

nRF52832 code will not just run on an nRF52840 - you will, at least, have to rebuild it; probably also adjust some configurations.

But that's a new question - please verify the answer to your original question, and start a new thread for a new question.
