NRF52840 as a border router

Hello,

We have started to design a project and we would like to use the Nrf52840 as border router with a linux terminal. The link would be a serial over USB. So the NRF52840 will embed the USB stack. But it will be also a border router supposed to handle up to 20 connections. 

Does the NRF52840 can fit our needs. Is the USB stack not too heavy for such a thing, i mean : is the NRF52840 able to handle the USB stack and 20 device bluetooth connection without any problem ?

Hi,

I think this should be possible. As far as I know, we have not done any tests with USB and 20 concurrent connections, but the connectivity FW we use with pc-ble-driver and nRF Connect already support USB and 8 connections as a peripheral and 8 connections as a central. You should be able to easily modify the application to build it with support for 20 connections, and test if it works as expected (see line 64476-64486 of this file).
