NRF51 Rom and Ram Optimization

Hello, community. 

I'm using NRF51822 SoC(256KB ROM, 32KB RAM) with S130 Softdevice.

I'd like to reduce the rom size and the ram size to decrease the production cost.

if it is possible, we want to use 128KB ROM and 16 KB RAM. My questions are two.

1. Softdevice Flash size can be reduced?

I utilize S130 Softdevice that occupies 104KB. can we deplete the size of Softdevice under 104KB?

2. Softdevice Ram size range?

I checked the Ram size of program occupies about 10KB(RW-data+ZI-DATA) but i couldn't check softdevice ram size.

Hi,

1. Softdevice Flash size can be reduced?

The flash size is fixed for each SoftDevice version. You could consider using S110 if the S130 is too big for your application.

2. Softdevice Ram size range?

 The SoftDevice RAM usage depends on configuration. You can refer to Adjustment of RAM and Flash memory for details.
