nRF51 Dongle for Mobile

Hello, Can anyone point me if the nRF51 Dongle can be used for connecting the device with an Android mobile.

Have used this dongle for connecting with PC opening COMM port, however I'm looking for establishing connection with an Android OS mobile using OTG cable. To process commands from mobile.

What additional components are required for this connectivity. Any details on this will help.

Hi,

It is theoretically possible, but it will require you to add a USB-COM port IC, as well as develop the central application on the nRF51822. We do not have any examples for this type of application.

I do not entirely get why you want to do this, as most phones has a bluetooth low energy capable controller embedded (which works with android v4.3 and newer), which we provide applications for testing your link, like this one: play.google.com/.../details
