Regarding iBeacon certification and also the Bluetooth SIG membership

Hi,

I'm planning to setup beacons for commercial purpose using eddystone and ibeacon protocols

to get Eddystone certification for my beacons Is it OK if I use the current eddystone example with few changes and is it mandatory to have Bluetooth SIG membership or

can i just use the Nordic Semiconductor company identifier since i am using nRF module

To get the iBeacon certification i have seen that by just accepting the term and conditions we can use the artwork. Is it true or do we need apply for iBeacon Licensee 

If yes, could you please provide the link where i can find the correct information.

Hi,

In general developing any Bluetooth product you must be a Bluetooth SIG member, that is required to build products that use Bluetooth technology. You should list your Bluetooth products as required by Bluetooth SIG.

In terms of iBeacon you should refer to https://developer.apple.com/ibeacon/ 

You should not use Nordic Semiconductor company identifier in your commercial product no.
