nRf51822-EK and nRF51422-EK not being recognized in Yosemite

Hi all,

I'm trying to work on my MacBook Air on BLE. I'm running Windows 7 under VirtualBox and using the new Keil µVision5.

But my problem is that whether the nRF51822-EK nor the nRF51422-EK is detected on Mac OS X 10.10.1 Yosemite. I think the problem is on the Segger driver side because when I get into the JLinkExe Command Tool and enter the "ShowEmuList"-Cmd there isn't any device listed.

The LED right next to the J-LINK IC is blinking all the time, too. I also tried that disable_CDC.sh script but it does not work, too.

Can anyone help me getting the EK's recognized?

Kind regards, Stephan

UPDATE: It definitely worked before with Yosemite on 10.10.0. Can anybody on Yosemite please confirm that? Or is there anyone on Yosemite with the nRF51x22-EK running on Yosemite 10.10.1?

  • Thanks for your answer but this is not problem with VirtualBox. On my Mac I have Parallels running (also with Win7) and it also doesn't work anymore and this definitely worked before. I programmed this way all the last months.

I did not update Parallels, I did not update the segger drivers. The only thing I updated was Yosemite 10.10.0 to 10.10.1 and now the evaluation kits won't get recognized anymore. And if they don't get recognized in the Mac OS X they won't be available in the virtual machine.

UPDATE: I solved it! It was the USB-cable. Once I changed that everything works! Thanks for everyone involved!
