nRF52832 UART flow control

I am using nRF52832 DK PCA10040 v1.2.4, SDK_15.3.0, S132 SoftDevice and Segger for flashing the image. I am using ‘ble_app_blinky’.

What for this macro HWFC defined in pca10040.h. I could not find HWFC being used any ware. Is this UART Flow control. If yes, then what for UART_DEFAULT_CONFIG_HWFC ins sdk_config.h

Whether by default Flow control is enabled or disabled.

Hi,

Yes, HWFC is the UART flow control (CTS, RTS) support in hardware. The HWFC macro is set to enable the Hardware Flow Control, and it is not used in the BLE Blinky Application. Therefore, it could be set to 0.

Hardware Flow Control (HWFC)

A handshaking mechanism used to prevent an overflow of bytes in modems. It is utilizing two dedicated pins on the RS-232 connector, Request to Send and Clear to Send.
