My device type is shown as unknown.

Hello, I am trying the nRF9160 DK for the first time and when I try to connect my DK to my laptop and select my device in the nRF Connect Programmer it shows the error highlighted below.This error occurs only when the device in the nRF91 mode and does not occur in the nrF52 mode.

What might be the reason for this error and can I solve this error?

  • Which version of the Development Kit for the nRF9160 do you have?
    Which version of the nRF Connect Programmer are you using?
    Which version of nrfjprog and JLink do you have?

    These are things that might impact your ability to detect the nRF9160 as they need to be updated (however I doubt the version of the DK is the issue as my v0.7.0 DK worked as did v0.8.2 and v0.8.5). nRF Programmer has been working for my nRF9160 DKs since the first closed realease samples of the DK last year.

    When I connect my v0.8.5 DK to v2.6.2 of the nRF Connect Programmer I see this:
