If I use sdk12.3 pca10040 S132

softdevice is s132_nrf52_3.0.0_softdevice.hex

How do I determine what version of Bluetooth it is?

In SDK or where the document has instructions？

Hi. 

If you take a look at the Softdevice specification for the S132 v.3.0.0, you can see that it is a Bluetooth 4.2 compliant low energy single-mode protocol stack.
