nRF9160 traffic over iperf tool

Dear all,

we would like to use nRF9160 DK as a CAT-M1 reference device for our local test purposes.
Usually we use iperf tool for UDP traffic generation.
Do you have any experience of using iperf with nRF9160DK as a client/server?
We would like to use iperf tool from local PC over the modem, so do you have any suggestion how to make a proper configuration for this purpose (ex. interface configuration, routes etc.) ?

Hi Olga,

 

I am sorry, but we do not have a iperf implementation available for nRF9160. There is a "zperf" implementation in zephyr, but this one does not have a socket interface, which is used for nRF9160.

Hi Håkon,

thank you for the quick response.
We actually do not need necessarily iPerf implementation on the nRF9160.
It would be also enough if nRF9160 can act as a transparent modem that can be controlled from PC via AT interface.

We were considering the case to start iperf Client on PC and send traffic via nRF9160(which should just forward it), so that we can get it on iperf Server  on PC.

Do you know if it is possible?

I am very sorry, but that is not something that we have. Over the AT interface, you cannot do IP traffic with the nRF9160.
