Nrf Mesh App & Set Publication

I'm currently doing an internship about bluetooth mesh network.

I'm using the light switch example with a client board and a server board, provisioned with the nerf mesh App on android

I'm trying to understand how it's possible to manage the lifetime of the advertisement and the number of steps while a led is set on an on/off state.

I'm configuring the network with the app and create a publish subscribe list. I have seen that it's possible to set the publication and especially the parameters Publication period "steps" and "resolution" and the parameters Retransmission "retransmission count" and "interval steps". Only the parameter Retransmission Interval steps look to have an impact on the advertising of the on/off status.

The parameter Publication period steps seems to be inactive (I don't succeed to change the value for example)

Is it possible to have more informations about the working and the effect on the mesh network ?

Could you elaborate more what you meant by "manage the lifetime of the advertisement and the number of steps while a led is set on an on/off state." ? 

The publication period is only applied for periodically status publishing, not sure you need this ? 

We do have issue with the publication parameter configuration. please have a look at this case.

My objective is to identify which parameter can be modified to reduce or increase the number of advertising frames while I press the switch on the client board

I was looking what was the optional parameters available with the app. If I well understand, these parameters refer to a periodically status publishing as the secure network beacons ?

I don't think this public period has anything to do with the client board. The status message is for the server when it wants to publish its status. 

Periodically status publishing also not related to the secure network beacons. Please read the Bluetooth Mesh Spec, section 3.7.6.1.3
