Get mesh device name using serial and interactive_pyaci

Hi,

Is it possible to get the device name - i.e the GAP_DEVICE_NAME - of an unprovisioned or provisioned device using a serial device and the interactive_pyaci? It would be very useful to have a way of identifying and labelling device not just on UUIDs. Using Mesh App to provision, it is able to get this name but I gather this uses a different provisioning process?

I have tried digging into the serial commands but haven't found anything. If the capabilities aren't currently there, where would be best to look and modify?

I think you should be able to collect the name.

Have you seen this page on the infocenter:
Interactive PyACI Script

There you can see that the name is shown in the provisioning data sent from the Light Switch server.

Hi Joakim, thanks for the reply.

Could you clarify where exactly the name is shown in the provisioning data? I have dived very deep into the Interactive Pyaci and Serial command/event docs and can't seem to find anything on device names except that assigned by the provisioner to the device, but this seems to be a local name only.

 You might be right here, I think I may have misread the doc. myself. I'll send a request to our developers, so that they can comment on this.
