The nRF Cloud Amazon Web Services site used for the 9160 Asset Tracker demo apparently has a 1 MB maximum and then stops working. How can I make the site active again for my 9160 development board?

I ran one of my 9160 DK boards for 10 days using the Asset Tracker demo.  The Hologram SIM card site I used says data exceeded 1 MB, which I understand the limit. Although the DK card will still connect through nRF Cloud, data is no longer displayed.  How can I get this service turned back on?

  • Nordic documentation says the nRF Cloud is limited to 1 MB.  The SIM card has no limit and hits the credit card whenever data credits get low.  I have two identical 9160 DK cards, one that I ran for 10 days continuously while on the road so I could verify roaming coverage.  This is the one that your AWS site will no longer display data for.  The newer one that only has an hour or two of usage works great.  Yes, I know I can change E-mail accounts but what a pain.  Was hoping we could just throw money at the problem.  Do not want to have to keep doing this as we add more development kits to the account and have to repeat the pairing process for all of them.

  • Understand that this is a development tool, and it is not intended for heavy usage. We have to pay for all data that runs through AWS on your accounts. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to provide any paid service at the moment.
