Beginner to nRF52 DK needing advertisement feature

Hi,

I am a beginner to BLE. I am using the nRF52 DK and i want to try out the advertisement and connection features.

I basically want to know how to send out an advertisement using the nRF52 DK on the press of a trigger such that the mobile phone with the nRF connect app can detect and connect to it receiving the message the peripheral device wanted to transmit. This entire scenario is for a hospital setup, where instead of the nRF52 DK there will be BLE beacons. 

With this i want to also integrate the location tracking feature. But to start with i want to know about the advertisement segment. 

The SDK version i am using is  nRF5_SDK_15.3.0_59ac345

The soft device being  s132

Segger embedded studio is what i am using.

Please guide me on the steps to follow to achieve this application.

Hi Steffie,

This guide is a few years old but all the concepts are still the same. This should serve you a good start. After that download the SDK15.3 and try out the examples in SDK15.3\examples\ble_peripheral to see how different advertising data are configured.
