nRF24lu1 and ”Not recommended for new designs”

As stated on the product page and repeated in my title, the nRF24lu1 and the plus model aren't recommend for new desifde. Is there an nRF52 series replacement?

I'm working on a project that uses an nRF24lu1 as a USB dongle. Is there a direct nRF52 replacement for this? Will something in the nRF52 family run the MCU binary from the nRF24lu1? Or am I going to have to disassemble the nRF24lu1firmware and rewrite for the replacement?

As I am new to Nordic's family of products, any guidance here is welcome! I must say that so far I am very impressed with what I am seeing... but dealing with legacy stuff is always a bit of a pain.

Thanks!

Yeah, no source. I inherited this, and I (at least as of now) have to keep things working with the current data logger. There's currently nothing in our source control related to this. Hope I can pull up something from somewhere! If I had my druthers, I'd *definitely* nuke this and start from scratch.

Is the nRF52840 the recommended replacement for production units? Digging through these public tickets, I've run across one from a while back that implied the nRF52840 was for development purposes.

    Thanks again!
