Coexistence between ESP32 and nRF52840 and modules certifications.

Hello,

I would like to implement a design using both the ESP32 Wi-Fi as well as the nRF52840 on the same PCB. As they both operate on the same 2.4GHz frequency and the antennas will be physically close to each other, I would like to ask if is possible to synchronize them so they will not interfere with one another. I know that some chips in the market are using dedicated wires for that but couldn't find any documentation for that.

Do the ESP32 and nFR52840 support coexistence on the same PCB?

Also, for avoiding the painful RF certification process I would like to use modules of the two devices. Will the certifications remain valid considering both modules will be on the same PCB?

Hi,

I have used both these chips on the same PCBs with no issues at all (about 5mm spacing).
Note: The nRFs are Raytac MDBT50Q-1MV2 and the ESP32 is a ESP32-WROOM.

Great to know! Have you operated both the Wi-Fi and the BT simultaneously? Are there any design guidelines or SW implementation?

Wi-Fi and the BT simultaneously: Yes.
SW implementation: don't touch Arduino.
