nRF24 Dongle not detected on the nRFgo Motherboard

Hi,

I'm trying upload firmware onto the nRF24LU1+ dongle (nrf2728) from the nrfgo motherboard (nrf6310) through nrfgo studios. I have it hooked up just as described in the Nordic NRF24LU1P-32-DK User Guide.

When I try to upload firmware onto the dongle, a pop up comes up stating that it could not detect the chip. Any ideas on how to alleviate the issue?

    What did you set the VTG/VBUS switch on the nRF2727 module to?

    Are you able to send me a picture of your setup?

    The switch is currently set to VBUS. Here's an image of the setup:

    S8 is also set to VBUS as well.

    Your setup looks fine, and I was able to program one of my dongles with a similar setup (I also had a dongle that I was unable to program for some reason..)

    Your board ID looks a bit abnormal, the board ID should be a number between 0 and 15 (it usually starts at 0 and counts up from there if you connect multiple boards). 

    Are you able to program the devkit module itself, or does it show similar issues?

    Do you have another PC available that you could test on?

    I've tried using another PC, couldn't flash onto the dongle either.

    I'm able to flash onto the nRF2727 itself through the motherboard, just not the dongle. I'm doing this as a workaround for now for my current project but I need a way to program the dongle as I have a custom PCB that I need to reflash. 

    I can also enumerate the dongle if I plug it into my PC directly (can detect it in nrfgo studios as well under nrflu1+ bootloaders tab on the right), however my PC doesn't detect it if I plug it into the set up I took above. 

    As for the board ID, the ID is different everytime I plug it in -- 3 IDs I've seen were 0, 16, and 17.

    I have a bunch of older dongles laying about, and have experienced that not all of them can be programmed in this way.

    Are you flashing the custom PCB in the same way as the dongle?

    Normally you would use the ISP connector on the motherboard to program external boards.
