Can I use any 128 bit UUID value?

I am wondering if I can use any 128 bit UUID value. For example, in the example uart project, Nordic UART Service = 6E400001-B5A3-F393-E0A9-E50E24DCCA9E is used.

1. Is there any rules for determining a UUID?

2. Can I use a totally different UUID without changing any functions(nordic uart service), just for distinguishing my module from others?

Is there any rules for determining a UUID? Yes, there are conventions for creating a UUID, a version 4 random UUID is a good way to approach this.. You can use the nRFgo studio to generate UUIDs.
