Did i just short my PCA10059 :S

Hi.

I think i just fried my NRF52840 dongle. VDD out is only about 0.5V :| I'm currently powering it from the usb port (VBUS is correctly +5v). Could it be that Ii only shorted the DCDC regulator? and if so, is it possible to power the board with a 3.3v regulated supply?

Thanks

/Mikkel

  • Hi,

Might be, but hard to say. What exactly did you do?

Supplying the board using 3.3V is possible, but depending on if or what damage has been done that might not work either, you'll just have to try. You will have to cut SB2 and short SB1 to short VDD and VDDH together, while not shorting VDD to VBUS for USB functionality. You can then supply 3.3V to the VDD rail.

If only the REG1 circuitry is damaged this should work, but if anything further down is damaged it is hard to say if or what will work. Let me know how it goes.
