undefined reference to `spm_request_random_number' in secure_services example

Hello,

I am trying to build the example code ncs/nrf/samples/nrf9160/secure_services  in SES4.18 Mac.

However, the build failed with the error:

1> /Users/dev/nrf9160sdk/ncs/nrf/samples/nrf9160/secure_services/build_nrf9160_pca10090ns/../src/main.c:37: undefined reference to `spm_request_random_number'
1> collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

Any ideas?
BTW, I have configured CONFIG_NORDIC_SECURITY_BACKEND, anything else?

Hello, 

The secure_services should work "out of the box". As the error message reports, line 37:

ret = spm_request_random_number(random_number, random_number_len, &olen);

Does your NCS install have the file nrf\subsys\spm\secure_services.c?

Yes, I have that file. I can see the file is compiled. But I don't know why the linker thinks `spm_request_random_number' is still undefined.

Is there a reason for why you have configured CONFIG_NORDIC_SECURITY_BACKEND? This is not included in the sample. Please try to remove this and build a clean sample.
