IOS Version 8.1.2 Won't Detect PCA10001

I am working on a custom BLE service on the PCA10001. I can successfully detect and communicate with the PCA10001 using windows x64 MCP. I can also detect and communicate with it using android 5.0.

However, in IOS V 8.1.2 I cannot see the device under settings>bluetooth. Does anyone have any ideas on why this would happen? Since it is working on two other platforms could it be an issue with IOS? Is it a problem that it is a custom service? I haven't built a custom IOS app for it yet... just wanted to see if it would show up under my system settings.

No, you will not see it in settings until it is connected. The App can see it though. once the App connect to the BLE then it will show in setting with connected state and disappear when the App disconnects.

Is it supposed to behave that way in android as well? Why is it that I can see other devices in my settings>bluetooth. For example I can see my laptop. Thanks for the help.

I don't know about Android. I haven't start development on Android yet. This behaviour has started since the last update of iOS7. I think is because BLE do not require pairing. On Android you can see it listed but I think you cannot pair with it. In fact the notion of pairing no long exists in BLE.
