Creating mesh network minimum hardware requirements

Hello.

In according to this tutoraial: https://www.novelbits.io/bluetooth-mesh-tutorial-part-5/

I wonder if it is possible to replace ,one of these two nrf52840 DKs, to Nordic's dongle or thingy?

I would like to build mesh network and don"t know witch elements are necessary.

-I know that I need Smartphone to provisioning ,

-nrf52840DK to create Proxy node

-for example 30 additional nodes to switching on/off/dimming ligts. I thing that buying 30 peaces of nrf52840 only for testing is not good idea, at least because of the price :-)

In according to this tutorial it is posible to reprogram nRF52840 DK for example adding my own functions in SEGGER EM STUDIO. But what happens if I replace nRF52840 DK by another for example NRF52840-DONGLE (because it is cheaper), is this good idea?
As I know  from tutorial there is no problem with programming nRF52840 DK, but how it looks with Dongle, or Thingy?

The priority for me the is abbility do easy codding, without any issues with programming environment. The best option would be one  programming environment for example SEGGER EM STUDIO and pack of libraries for all elements in mesh network.

If it is posible or maybe my expectations are excessive?

  • I have another question about Android app witch name is: nRF Mesh.

This application is used only for Provisioning, configure for example witch node is server and witch client. Generally speaking creating rules, but if I want to send data (for example command: "Turn off lamp number XX") from my smartphone then I need to use another aplication to do it? Am I right?
