Trying to get started with the Thingy:91
- It's connecting to NRF Cloud and reporting data.
1. Keeps blinking blue and does not get a GPS lock. I did leave it near the window. I did hold down the button for more than 10 seconds as suggested in another post, to turn on the GPS. I'm in Vancouver, Canada and using the iBasis SIM. How would I find out if this is because my provider does not support power saving mode?
2. Is the LTE Link monitor supposed to work over USB? I connected it via USB but I get "No devices available". I did uncheck auto device port filter.
I don't have a NRF9160 DK.
Thank you so much for looking into this!
I'll try again outside. The colour does change to indicate it's searching for GPS, it just doesn't find it.
Please let me know if you find out from the sales manager about the situation in Vancouver, BC
How do I determine if PSM is allowed or not? I read in another post that the system will report that PSM is enabled, but actually it's not.
If PSM is not allowed, will the thingy not search for GPS, or it will search and not find the GPS?

This was my problem when i tried to use iBasis SIM in Norway ( not support PSM):
IN the report, it said: PSM enabled, after long_press to active the GPS ( purple leds on), nothing will come, and it will be reset after 360s (CONFIG_GPS_CONTROL_FIX_TRY_TIME=360)
Sadly I have not been able to confirm if this is the issue, but our people in Canada reports similar problems of not getting a GPS fix with iBasis SIM cards.
I would recommend that you contact your local operator, and ask for information from them.
