16MHz Crystal not running

We are using the NR51422 to develop a BLE application. We reused the project “ble_app_hrm” from the SDK v6 and ran it using the NRF6310 board, everything is ok.

We just received our own boards. We used our own “board.h” file re-mapping the pinout we have.

We can connect to our board using JLink,Lite and program the soft device 310, “s310_nrf51422_1.0.0_softdevice” and the “hrs” application re-compiled with our board.h, the sdevice and appliacation get programmed successfully but it does not seam to work.

We are using the 12pF 2% 0402 component and Crystal 16MHz, 8pF, 15ppm, working at 3.3V www.mouser.ch/.../ProductDetail.aspx

We can see the 32.768kHz oscillator running ok (oscilloscope measured), but the 16MHz oscillator is not running we measure a pulse 1v 2ms with a frequency of 30Hz aprox (). So we do not see the 16Mz there.

Any idea on why is the component behaving like that? we are stuck in this part

ok, Just found out that the internal 16MHz Rc was running instead of the external crystal, check out this post

now we can measure the 16MHz crystal with the scope, never the less the program is not running. probably a problem with the soft device initialization. we'll see

Check the SoftDevice initialization and the 32.768kHz crystal for accuracy. You can in fact run a nRF51822 with specifying the wrong HF crystal and the program should still run. However nothing works without the LF crystal working properly. What LF crystal are you using?
