What level of received signal can be detected by nRF Connect?

What is the minimum received signal level that can be detected by nRF-Connect?
Does it depend on the terminal used?

  • Hi

Are you using nRFConnect for Desktop, or one of the mobile apps (for Android or iOS)? The desktop version uses an nRF5x device to scan, which again uses the RSSISAMPLE to read the RSSI value of advertising devices in the range of 0 to -127 dBm, theoretically. However, the stated accuracy of +-2dB in the radio is only valid in the range of -90 to -20 dBm, so -90 would be the minimum "valid" signal level in practice. You shouldn't count signals lower than -90dBm on mobile devices either.

    Best regards,
