Adding LTE Device

Hi,

I'm wondering if I'm doing correct by following getting started guide of nRF9160 ( https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/nordic/cellular-iot-guides/b/getting-started-cellular/posts/getting-started-with-nrf9160-dk  ) at "Connecting DK to nRF Cloud " section.

After skip "Verify SIM Card" part, because I have already activated my iBasis SIM card.

Popup window appears, which is "Add LTE Device" and it ask for "IMEI" and "PIN" (BTW, this part is not mentioned in the guide).

I can find the IMEI from the back of the DK, but not PIN.

So, I tried some numbers for PIN, but they have been ignored. 

Then I press "Have an old devkit without a PIN?" and happily I can get it through.

But now I'm thinking over the process again that if I'm doing correct, because my devkit is not old.

It has been purchased on May. 2019 and I was the first one to open the package.

So, I would like to ask if it's ok to proceed by "Have an old devkit without a PIN?" .

Or Should I logged by a PIN?

If so, how to find a PIN?

Hi,

 

The Thingy:91 is currently the development platform that has PIN code, and none of the current nRF91-DK has a pin printed on the label (located just below the nRF9160 module).

I agree, the interface here focuses a bit incorrectly; where is not intuitive that you should click "Have an old devkit without a PIN?" - I'll report this back to the cloud team.

for nRF9160.

And I don't find PIN for nRF9160 anyway..?

Yes, it is OK to click "Have an old devkit without a PIN".

Hello Hakon, 

I have the same issue, I have a nRF9160 board without any PIN/HWID in the label. Then, I'm not able to register into nrfcloud. 

Also, it is important to mention that option "Have an old devkit withput a PIN" is not available anymore. Is there any default PIN to try or should I follow a new procedure?
