Antenna comparison of nRF52840 boards

Dear,

I am doing some range tests with the nRF52840 and saw that the RSSI value of the PCA10059 (USB dongle) can be more than 10dB lower than the one of the PCA10056 (DK).

Is this expected behaviour ?

Are the radiation patterns of both antennas available ?

With antennas, size matters.

The dongle is a lot smaller than the DK - so it's not really surprising.

But there are also very many other things that can affect RSSI; unless you have the 2 devices in exactly the same position under exactly the same conditions - including the surrounding environment - it is very hard to make meaningful comparisons.
