I Cannot open the nRF Connect for Desktop3.2.0 for Linux

Dears,

I have the nRF52840 Dongle, according to the user guide, I download the nRF Connect for Desktop for Linux version(named xxx.AppImage), and my linux pc is ubuntu, login desktop with root user. But nothing happened when I double click the AppImage file. I checked the properties, and I have changed the privilege with runnable. How could I run the AppImage correctly?

BTW: I can run the same AppImage when I login the ubuntu as normal user not root, but I encounter the permission issue "Error while setting up device E727B4AE9F71: Error: Permission denied, cannot open /dev/ttyACM0", so I tried to login with root, but can not open the AppImage.

Please help me how I can run the nRF Connect tool normally? Thanks a lot.

Hi,

I'm not sure why you can't run it as root, but I think it's better to give your user permission to ACMx. You may use nRF-udev for this.

Thank you very very much, I can normally use the tool without any problem after installing the udev.
