Red Dear Lab Development board

Would you recommend purchasing Red Dear Lab Development Board? Or should I get an EVKIT from Nordic Semiconductors?

Nordic Semiconductor eval kits are expensive and shipping time is more. I can get Red Dear Kit From Amazon.

My other concern is software code resources. Do both have equal resources available? I am considering to purchase:

  • You will get access to Nordic software resources when you purchase a redbearlab board is my understanding See http://redbearlab.com/nrf51822-sdk/ . However the best place to confirm is with Redbearlab support.

You must note that the RedbearLab board is using the nRF51822 (BTLE and proprietary)while the Nordic boards use the nRF51422 (i.e. ANT, BTLE and proprietary capable) The debugger on the RedbearLab board is a CMSIS-DAP while the debugger on the Nordic boards are Segger based.

However if the Nordic boards are not available to you, this seems to be a reasonable option.
