Changing of pin-configuration Input < - > output during normal work

Is it allowed and possible to change the configuration of one pin from input to output chararacteristic (and back)
during the normal work flow.
I need this possibility for test purposes during the "set into operation procedure".
My first attempts failed.  It seems, that the first configuration after reset is not changeable
until the next reset.

You can change any GPIO to whatever you want whenever you want during operation. 

Why don't you tell us exactly what you've done, what you expect to happen, and what actually happened?

Many thanks for your answer. First I read a comment regarding the special features of the reconfiguration of NFC-pins and  transferred that to the reconfiguration of "normal" IO-pins. That was fault number 2.  Sorry for my stupid question
