Is there an API for the USB dongle?

Hi, I want to create a peripheral device with a nRF52810 module.

Before developing the corresponding mobile app, I would like to use this as a central device: A GUI, written in C on a computer and a nRF52840 USB Dongle. How could I do that? I didn’t find an API for the USB dongle. Thank you for your help!

You can test our nRF Connect for Desktop with its nRF Connect Bluetooth Low Energy application. It has support for the nRF52840 dongle and showcases some basic BLE features. 

nRF Connect for desktop uses our pc-ble-driver to interface with the dongle. The driver is based on C/C++ with optional bindings for Node.js(nRF Connect for desktop) and python.
