Thingy:91 Can't connect J-Link to debug port

Tried connecting a J-Link Lite to the debug port of the Thingy:91, get an error message 

ERROR: Low voltage detected at the target. Please make sure the device is

ERROR: properly supplied.

The Thinkgy:91 is blinking Blue and is connected over USB.

The LTE Monitor is working as well as the nRFConnect for Cloud.

SW2 is set to nRF52840. The JLink-Lite works on nRF52832 modules using the same

10 pin JTAG connector.

Hi,

 

The Thingy:91 uses a VDD_IO of 1.8V on both the nRF9160 and nRF52840, so you need a debugger that can operate on that specific voltage:

The nRF91-DK can do that, where you can switch the VDD_IO to either 3.0V or 1.8V (switch is located in the lower left corner, near the main on/off switch)

Can a nrf52832-DK be used for this purpose?

No, the only DK that can successfully program on 1.8V is the nRF91-DK.

Also note that nRF5-series DK's cannot program a Cortex M33 device (ie: the nRF9160), as the on-board-debugger IC does not support that core.
