Sniffer data forwarding

Dear all,

I just played around with the nRF Sniffer and I am pretty impressed. Really good tool and most of the packets are received.

I want to build an application where I use a Raspberry Pi to sniff packets of a specific device. Wireshark is not really needed but the data should be forwarded to a UDP port or something like that so I can use the data for further live processing.  At the moment I am using Windows with a Texas Instruments CC2540 dongle. The software is able to forward the data over UDP. Unfortunately, there is no Linux support. Therefore, I want to implement something similar with the nRF Sniffer.

Any ideas on how to do that?

Hi, we are currently working on the v3 release of nRF sniffer, which include an example_linux.py that I believe should be a good starting point. I will check if this can also be used on the current version of nRF sniffer.

Thanks Kenneth. I just managed to do it on Windows based on the example.py file. I now try to understand the example_linux file but it is not commented at all... When is v3 comming?

Not sure if the documentation has improved, but it is python 3 compatible, it is in final beta testing now and looks good, so I don't expect many days.
