Indoor positioning using Bluetooth Low Energy 4.0, required hardware

Hi all, I m new to Bluetooth Low Energy. I have to develop an indoor positioning project based on Bluetooth Low Energy 4.0 in which i have to locate person's current position in home and send it to main server (or PC). What hardware should i use ? I have search Beacons and Bluetooth Low Energy module. For transferring to PC, do i need WLAN ?

  • All you need is some bluetooth modules and a BLE to wifi bridge (which can be as simple as an iPhone).

However, getting accurate position is very non-trivial. RSSI is highly variable due to many factors. The best accuracy you can get is about 3m (10ft).

Whoever can do sub-meter accuracy with BLE will become very rich.
