at_client and simple_at programs doesn't work to send SMS by using AT+CMGS command

Hello,

I have to send SMS from NORDIC nrf9160dk which is using iBASIS sim card to my mobile phone. For this I tried two programs (at_client and simple_at). But nothing works. I am using AT+CMGS command to send SMS, but it always shows error or it is timed out. Could anybody help me with this? what is the sequence of AT commands to send SMS. AT+CNUM also always shows error. I tried using my sim card (Bouygues operator), still it is not working.

If there is any other program which I can try please tell me.

Hi,

 

You have to use a SIM card that is associated with a physical number. iBasis is not.

Given that your local SIM card has support for NB1 or M1, the sequence provided in this thread should work:

Are you able to successfully connect via your local SIM? Note that you have to input the AT+CPIN="my pin" before starting (ie: CFUN should be 4) the modem.

Now I am trying my sim card. But it stucks at ***** Booting Zephyr OS v1.14.99-ncs2 *****

I am attaching the screenshot of program which has sequence of AT commands I used and terminal. Please tell me where I am doing mistake. Also when I enter AT+CNUM command, it always shows error.

Hello, I am not able to connect via local SIM as well. I am using Free SIM. 

Sequence of AT commands which I am using is:

"AT+CPIN=1234",
"AT+CFUN?",
"AT+CFUN=1",
"AT+CFUN?",
"AT+CNUM"
"AT+CEREG?",
"AT+CNMI=3,2,0,1",
"AT+CMGS=17\r07913396050096F511000B913367398624F30000AA03E8721E\x1A",

Am I doing any mistake while entering AT commands?

LTE monitor stops at ***** Booting Zephyr OS v1.14.99-ncs2 *****. Nothing happens after this.

Please use the at_client for inputting the sequences for sending SMS, so that you can verify that it works. After that, you can save the known working sequence of AT commands, and run it in your program.

Yes I used at_client for inputting the AT commands. All commands are working till CNMI, but CMGS doesn't work. It shows error or it is timed out. I read that CMGS doesn't work with at_client. 

By using simple_at program, nothing works. It stops at ***** Booting Zephyr OS v1.14.99-ncs2 *****

Is there possibility that my sim card has some problem or am I using CMGS command not correctly?

simple_at does not print at all at your end. It might be related to the memory configurations in prj.conf.

Could you try setting this one to 4096 bytes?
