Cannot find Nordic Thingy91 as a USB device

Hi, I cannot find my Nordic Thingy91 as a USB connected device in the nRFConnect desktop application.

I tried to connect the Thingy via a JTAG 10-pin cable via an external debugger (nRF52840) in the Debug-out connector.

We also made sure that the Thingy's SWD Select switch is on the nRF52 state.

  • Hi!

To get the device to show up as a USB connected device in LTE Link Monitor (I assume that's what you mean by nRFConnect desktop application, please correct me if I'm wrong), you just need to connect it directly using a micro USB to USB cable.

From your post it seems like you've only tried connecting it via a 10-pin JTAG to another DK. This is the correct way to program the device but to read the terminal output you need it directly connected to your computer.

    Best regards,

    Heidi
