nrf52833

Hi everybody,

We are going to develop on nrf52833 our new product. I have some questions regarding this new module:

1- Is the module available to buy online?

2- I saw the price which is not really different from nrf52840. What is the interest to usenrf52833 instead of nrf52833?

3- Is there any 3.3v pinout like nrf52840 to power other modules?

Thanks

  • What i know is:

    1. You can buy some devboards with the 52833 which look just like the 52840

    2. pros of nrf52833 it's cheaper, is temperature resistent and supports the new BT 5.1, but you don't get the same memory and flash and you seem to miss out on the CryptoCell. You however end up paying less.

3: I think it has the same IO as the 52840

  • Hello,

First of all, I recommend looking at nRF52833 OPS.

1- Is the module available to buy online?

The official list of 3rd party modules found here does not list any nRF52833 modules yet. That does not mean that there aren't any modules available. I suggest looking at the supplier list and see if they have any newer modules on their webpage.

2- I saw the price which is not really different from nrf52840. What is the interest to usenrf52833 instead of nrf52833?

     See the answer from
    You can compare features here:
    nRF52840 features vs nRF52833 features

3- Is there any 3.3v pinout like nrf52840 to power other modules?

The nRF52833 has a high voltage mode, similar to nRF52840. "In High Voltage mode, both the regulator stages (REG0 and REG1) are used. The output voltage of REG0 can be configured in register REGOUT0. This output voltage is connected to VDD and is the input voltage to REG1."

Edit: Sorry, the information above may be wrong. I need to verify it first.

Please see nRF52833 OPS for more information.

  • Thanks for your reply.

But I need the chip. I checked Digikey and Mouser and I saw that the chip is not yet available.

I'm sorry, it cannot be used for external devices. Our team has replied:
REG0 cannot be used to supply external circuitry as this is not a feature of the nRF52833. If REG0 is used supply external circuitry you are operating the NRF52833 outside the specification.

I'm sorry, I do not have any information regarding sales. You can contact your local RSM for more information regarding parts and availability.

    Kind regards,
    Øyvind
