nRF52832 current consumption in System OFF / No RAM retention / Wake on LPCOMP mode

Hi all,

The nRF52832 spec. document specifies that the current consumed in System OFF / No RAM retention / Wake on LPCOMP mode is 1.9uA. However, if I measure the current using the Nordic PPK, it is only ~0.4uA. I assume my software / SoC works correctly because I can see that the chip goes in to the system off mode and wakes up by LPCOMP interrupts.

Could anyone confirm if 1.9uA shown in the spec is a correct value? Do you have any idea why the actual measured current is much lower than the spec.?

Thank you.

Best,
Jay

  • I did some measurements on 840, 833 and 832. In the case of 840 and 833 the PS seems to be correct, except that I measured lower 'system OFF wake on reset' current on 833. I got 0.3 uA, not 0.6 uA.

1.9 uA for 832 'system OFF wake on LPCOMP' is too much. I measured 0.7 uA. I will report this internally.

I just want to add that the numbers in the PS are typical values. i.e. the average over a large set of samples. There will be device to device variations, so if you measure only one sample you will most likely not get the same result as in the PS.
