Suggestion: Open source your testing routines

In regard to the problem described here: https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/38048/bug-in-how-bootloader-treats-gpregret, it would be interesting for developers, to also have some sort of access to your testing routines, if this is in any way possible. I can see multiple advantages:

  • This would be in the spirit of your take on open source you have with the SDK
  • It would build and increase confidence into the nRF SDK as a whole
  • Nordic would benefit of feedback not only about the SDK software, but also on possibilites on how to increase test coverage (which maybe could have helped in the case I linked above!)
  • Increase awareness for the importance of (unit) tests in the industry
  • Developers would have very specific examples on how to create tests for their own software, maybe even some templates to help to get started.

I'm sure open sourcing this part of your IP doesn't come with any drawbacks (and probably a lot of work too) and this is not the first proposal to do so, but I wanted to bring it up again because I imagine it would be a Win-Win for everybody.
