Enabling Band 1 on Thingy91

Hi,

How do I enable Band 1 on my Thingy 91? On your web-page it seems that your base-band supports Band 1, but when I use the following AT-command AT%XCBAND=? I get the following response: %XCBAND: (2,3,4,8,12,13,20,28)

When I try this AT-command, AT%XCBAND 1, I get the following response: %XCBAND: 12. Do I need another firmware or do I have to enter another AT-command?

Thank you

Best regards

  • Hi Joakim,

How do I enable Band 1 on my Thingy 91? On your web-page it seems that your base-band supports Band 1, but when I use the following AT-command AT%XCBAND=? I get the following response: %XCBAND: (2,3,4,8,12,13,20,28)

Do you have an older modem on your thingy:91? You can check this with this AT cmd:

    AT+CGMR
    mfw_nrf9160_1.0.1
    OK

This version of the modem should give this back when querying XCBAND:

    AT%XCBAND=?
    %XCBAND: (1,2,3,4,5,8,12,13,14,17,18,19,20,25,26,28,66)

    Kind regards,

    Håkon

  • Hi Håkon,

I have the following version: mfw_nrf9160_1.0.0-24.rc

However, I tried the following command:

    AT%XBANDLOCK=2,”1”

And now when I write, AT%XCBAND=? I get the following response:

    %XCBAND: (1,2,3,4,5,8,12,13,14,17,18,19,20,25,26,28,66)

I assume that I should be able to connect to a network that supports band 1 now?

    Best regards
