pca10028 2 layers

Hello,

I'm redrawing and routing my own PCB for nRF81x22. I take the details from pca10028 files.

My question: Can I route the PCB with only 2 layers?? I have seen only Power layer and GND, but I guess they are not extrectly necessaire... If I remove them and less TOP and BOT and respecting the RF part as it is, no problem, isnt??

Thank you!

daniel

  • You can safely create a PCB with only 2 layers. I have done the same, where i started with the reference design for the PCA10001 board, and removed the two middle layers. Keep in mind that the top and bottom layers should have the same distance between them, and that the RF-part should be identical. Also, if you don't need the coax cable connector, I would suggest using the PCA10001 files as a reference.
