Sudden Peek in Rssi

Hi i am checking for the Rssi value of the low power node, when i am placing the device in certain feet, it is giving the rssi  reading which is approximately matches with others but some times sudden peek is coming even if it is near, because of that i couldn't get proper average value  and distance

Could anyone share how i can handle the rssi and distance?

Is any formula please let me know.

  • In an ideal environment with no reflections, you will have a stable RSSI level. But especially indoors, the radio signal will be reflected from walls, ceiling and floor. This is called fading and will cause the RSSi level to fluctuate quite a lot when the environment changes (receiver is moved, people move etc). There's little you can do about this except trying to filter the RSSI values to make it more stable. RSSI is not a good indication of range, especially indoors.
