The compounded current consumption of the device will heavily depend on your usage of it. The nRF9160 itself will have the highest current consumption when the modem is active with 23 dBm output power, where the peak is specified here:
Modem and GPS cannot overlap each other in terms of current consumption, as they cannot operate exactly at the same time. GPS is scheduled in-between LTE/NB1 frames.
Kind regards,
Håkon
Thanks for the reply. Can u confirm that all the mentioned power consumption is on the VDD pins.(i.e. VDD1+ VDD2).
Is this at 3.7V nominal voltage? or at 3.0V ?
Hi,
The voltage on VDD is described in the parameter, for instance this:
TX subframe, Pout >20 dBm, Ant VSWR3, Vbat 3.0 V, Temp 85 °C
unspecified descriptions inherits the conditions here:
VDD_IO is on its own net, and the consumption of GPIOs will heavily depend on your application and how much is sinked/sourced through GPIOs.
Kind regards,
Håkon
