The CTE (Constant Tone Extension) feature can be used on the DTM (Direct Test Mode) with the nRF5 SDK v16.0.0 (latest version) now?

I want to trying to the HCI Command (DTM Mode) of CTE (Constant Tone Extension) feature for SIG RF Pre-TEST, 

The nRF5 SDK v16.0.0 (latest version) is ready for CTE feature now (with nRF52833)?

And..I see the nRF52833 is only one antenna connector, How to use for multi antenna (AoA/ AoD)

Hi,

 

SDK v16.0.0 has support for nRF52833 but does not support the direction finding test cases.

 

To use multiple antennas you need to use RF switches to switch between multiple antennas. These are controlled using GPIOs as described in the PS.

On the product page, I see the nRF52833 can support the direction finding feature, What time can support the direction finding test cases (DTM mode)? Have any plan or schedule to support this feature?

Hi,

 

The HW supports direction finding, but this is quite complex stuff and entirely new to us, so unfortunately getting the Software to a state where it is making your development more easy compared to starting from scratch is taking some time. I do not have a schedule unfortunately, you should contact the Nordic Regional Sales Manager who is handling your region for this an possible other roadmap related questions. Hi, is the direction finding already implemented in the DTM?

I downloaded SDK 17.0.0 and there are lots of DTM hex files, if it is supported what hex file can I use ?

I use 52833DK

Hi,

 

There is no implementation in the SDK yet, please contact the Nordic RSM in your region for further details.

 

DTM is the RF-PHY test spec part of Bluetooth SIG. This does not necessarily implement anything Direction Finding related, it is used to test RF-PHY compliance against the Bluetooth spec. Once supported in SDKs, Direction Finding will be supported in DTM as well. For nRF52833-DK the PCA10100 projects and hex files apply.
