NRF52810 SWD ARM debug port

I see the SWD debug port is a 2-wire protocol, SWCLK and SWDIO. My debugger device has two additional pins, SWO and nReset. Are these two pins required to debug and program the nrf52810? I have very limited board space for my project but I want to be sure I can program the chip in circuit. Thanks!

HI Cory, 

You only need SWCLK and SWDIO ( in addition to VDD and GND) to debug and program the nRF52810. The SWO pin is used for the optional Trace functionality, which is not present on the nRF52810. nReset is not required for programming as the programmer/debug probe will reset the chip through the SWD interface.

Hi Bjorn, I have a follow up question. The programming header connector on my board has pins for SWO and NRESET. Because I'm not using those pins with the NRF52810 should I connect them to VCC or GND or just let them float?

I would recommend connecting  nRESET to VCC if this isnt connected to VCC on the NRF52810 PCB. SWO can be left floating.
